Mr. Masrour Barzani met with the Commander-in-Chief of the Coalition Forces
Kurdistan Region Prime Minister, Mr. Masrour Barzani met with General Matthew McFarlane, Commander-in-Chief of the Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria.
According to the official website of the Kurdistan Regional Government, the meeting discussed the latest developments in Iraq and the Region, the continued support of the Peshmerga forces in the fight against terrorism and the threat of ISIS terrorists and the importance of maintaining border security.
General Matthew McFarlane highlighted the progress of security cooperation and coordination between the Peshmerga and the Iraqi army in the fight against terrorism, especially last year and stressed the importance of promoting this coordination to fill the security gap in the areas of Article 140 of the constitution.
From the official website of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) statement: “The Prime Minister thanked the US and its coalition forces for their continued support to the Peshmerga in the fight against terrorism and the reforms of the Peshmerga Ministry.”
In the meeting, Mr. Masrour Barzani briefed the delegation on the results of the visit to Baghdad and the meeting with the Prime Minister, especially the development of cooperation and security coordination between the Peshmerga and the Iraqi army.
