Erbil Governor: We are optimistic about the Kurdish students in India, if they return to their homeland tomorrow, they would serve as an example of the direction of development in India

On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, the Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, received the Consul General of the Republic of India,  Mr. Subhash Chandra Kain, at the governorate office.
During the meeting, the Governor of Erbil welcomed the Indian Consul General, and the two sides emphasized the consolidation of economic relations and the increase of trade between India and the Kurdistan Region.

In another aspect of the meeting, the Governor of Erbil, congratulated the Indian Consul General on the occasion of the approaching National Day of India, and emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation and partnership between the two sides in the fields of university education and the provision of fellowships in various disciplines, especially many universities in Kurdistan, which have memorandums of understanding with Indian universities.

For his part, the Consul General of India in Erbil thanked the Governor of Erbil for his continuous participation in all activities and work of the Indian Consulate in Erbil, and for his prominent role in expanding and developing bilateral relations between the two countries.
