In the framework of his visit to France and participation in the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF) conference in Paris, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw was accompanied by a number of governors and mayors from other cities around the world, river water recycling project in Paris, and the construction of thousands of kilometers of bicycle paths in the city.

The project supervisors discussed in detail the project on how to recycle water in Paris during the visit, then highlighted the project to build thousands of kilometers of bicycle roads and the establishment of several ordinary bicycle stations and electronic bicycles. Environmental protection has been implemented within the framework of the international environmental protection plan, which is currently being developed at the global level.

The governor thanked the project supervisors and stated that during a meeting with Ms. Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, he emphasized the importance of the environment and the effects of climate change, and he also called for the use of French experts in the region Kurdistan in general, and Erbil in particular, for recycling and environmental protection projects.

It is worth mentioning that the Japanese JICA is scheduled to implement a project of recycling garbage and wastewater in Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan Region, at a cost of (288) million Euros. In addition to being a large and strategic project, it will benefit the citizens of Erbil.
