The Governor of Erbil emphasizes the development and strengthening of relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government and Palestine

On Wednesday evening, November 29, 2023, Governor Omed Khoshnaw of Erbil paid a visit to the Palestinian Consulate. The occasion marked the anniversary of the consulate's opening in Erbil and the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The Palestinian Consul General in Erbil, Nazmi Hazouri, warmly welcomed him.
 

In the meeting, the Erbil Governor emphasized the need to enhance ties between the Kurdistan Regional Government and Palestine. He voiced support and solidarity with the Palestinian people, underlining that peace and stability in the region hinge on addressing both Kurdish and Palestinian issues. Additionally, he expressed optimism for resolving regional problems and tensions through dialogue and understanding, wishing for peace and tranquility to prevail in the area.
 

The Palestinian Consul General, in turn, expressed gratitude to the Governor of Erbil for the visit, highlighting the historical connections between the people of Palestine and Kurdistan. He expressed hope for both peoples to thrive in prosperity and peace, achieving their rights and contributing to the overall peace and stability in the region.
 

Notably, November 29th marks the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. On this day, advocates for peace and freedom, as well as friends of the Palestinian people, express their support for their pursuit of freedom, independence, and the right to establish a sovereign government.
