During his speech, the Erbil governor highlighted that March 14, 1903 marked the birth of the spiritual father of the Kurdish nation, Mustafa Barzani, born in the village of Barzan. He emphasized that this birth signifies a significant and promising day in Kurdish history, heralding brightness and prosperity.

On that day, it was declared as the day dedicated to tree planting and greening the plains of Kurdistan.

He emphasized that the late Barzani emerged as the leader of the Kurdish community, carrying the torch of freedom and embodying the noble ideals and sentiments of the Kurdish nation. Remarkably, within a short span and at a young age, he became the symbol of a stateless people.
