Italian Army donates vital medical equipment to Erbil’s Raparin Teaching Hospital for Children

On Sunday, November 10, 2024 - In a ceremony attended by Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw, Col. Ciro Forte, Commander of the IT-NCC Land contingent, and Dilovan Mohammed, Erbil’s Director General of Health, the Italian National Ground Forces, operating within the International Coalition for Training Peshmerga Forces, donated essential medical equipment to the Raparin Teaching Hospital for Children, including a DC shock machine, six infusion pumps, 85 bed mattresses, and various other essential medical supplies and equipment.
 

Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw congratulated the hospital's management, physicians, and staff while expressing gratitude to the Italian National Force Commander in Erbil for their generous contribution. "We highly value this donation and the continuous support from our Italian partners," said Governor Khoshnaw. "These medical supplies will enhance our healthcare capabilities and enable us to provide better services to our citizens."

The Governor highlighted the Kurdistan Regional Government's commitment to healthcare development under Prime Minister Masrour Barzani's ninth cabinet, stating: "Under the vision and guidance of the Prime Minister, we maintain a dual focus on strengthening both public and private healthcare sectors. The KRG consistently works to improve the quality and standards of public hospitals. Raperin Teaching Children's Hospital, as one of Erbil's crucial medical facilities, is currently undergoing significant renovations, including upgrades to its operating theaters and patient wards, funded by the Erbil Governorate budget."
