Istanbul... The meeting of Governors and Mayors for peace and cooperation in the Middle East and North Africa has begun
Tonight, Thursday, December 12, 2024, Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, attended the Governors and Mayors Meeting for Peace and Cooperation in the Middle East and North Africa, following an official invitation from Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoglu.
The meeting is scheduled to last for two days from December 12 to 14th December, 2024, with the participation of governors and mayors from Middle Eastern and North African countries. During the meeting, besides cities getting to know each other, discussions will focus on the general situation in the region, changes in the Middle East, urban development by local governments, the role of cities in building peace, and opportunities and challenges.
This evening, during the opening ceremony aimed at fostering connections among participants, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu delivered a speech, warmly welcoming attendees and emphasizing the significance of this meeting.
