The Governor of Erbil receives the Representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea and a parliamentary delegation from the country
Today, Thursday, April 24, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, at the Governorate office, received Tamila Tasheva, Representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea, and Andriy Bohdanets, the Member of Parliament and Head of Ukrainian side in the Iraqi-Ukrainian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, and Lesya Zaburanna, Ukrainian Parliamentarian and Member of the Parliament's Committee on Relations of the country, who have visited Erbil, the capital, to participate in the National Prayer Day ceremony in Kurdistan.
During the meeting, the Governor of Erbil welcomed them and expressed hope that they would spend their time comfortably while in Erbil, the capital. Afterwards, they discussed brotherhood, peace, love, and coexistence among the communities of Kurdistan, and emphasis was placed on promoting religious coexistence in the Kurdistan Region, which has become a center and example of religious and national coexistence in the region. In this regard, the Governor of Erbil emphasized that the Kurdistan Region, including Erbil, the capital, will always remain a haven of coexistence, tolerance, and reconciliation for all communities. Afterwards, both sides emphasized strengthening their general, commercial, and economic relations.
For this purpose, the Governor of Erbil stated that the door of Erbil, the capital, is open to all companies, traders, and investors from their country for investment in the city of Erbil, and that as the Governorate of Erbil, within the framework of applicable guidelines and laws, whatever is necessary for their facilitation and assistance will be provided.
In another part of the meeting, the guest delegation, aiming to further advance relations, put forward a request for sister-city status between the two cities of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, and Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. Regarding this, the Governor of Erbil thanked them for their request and expressed his happiness and agreement. He also expressed his readiness for all facilitations and assistance for the preparation process of the sister-city status and the understanding and agreement between the two cities.
