The Governor of Erbil is visiting Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and will hold several important meetings and visits
Today, Sunday, 2025.04.27, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, at the Governor’s office, received Faramarz Asadi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil.
In the meeting, which was attended by Shakir Hussein, the official responsible for relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran, both sides emphasized the importance of developing relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kurdistan Region. Attention was also drawn to the visit of the Governor of Erbil to Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and his participation in the opening of the (Iran Expo 2025) exhibition, which will open tomorrow, April 28, 2025, in Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the participation of more than (100 countries) and (800) different international companies.
In another part of the meeting, the preparations and program for the visit were presented. It was stated that on the sidelines of his participation in the exhibition, the Governor of Erbil will have several important meetings and visits with each of the (Governor of Tehran, Governor of Qazvin, Governor of Zanjan, Governor of West Azerbaijan (Urmia)). For this purpose, emphasis was placed on all preparations.
For his part, the Governor of Erbil thanked the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the staff of the Iranian Consulate in Erbil for organizing the visit. He highly valued the efforts of the esteemed Consul General and also expressed his happiness with the official invitation, their participation in the opening of the (Iran Expo 2025) exhibition, and the meetings with (the Governors of Tehran, Qazvin, Zanjan, and West Azerbaijan).
Finally, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran thanked the Governor of Erbil and the Erbil Governorate administration for the relationship, coordination, assistance, and facilitation they have provided to their country's consulate over the past years.
