Tehran... Deputy President of Iran Receives Governor of Erbil

On Monday, April 28, 2025, Abdulkarim Hosseinzadeh, Deputy President of Iran, in the presence of Dr. Hamidi, Deputy Minister of Interior of Iran, received Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and his accompanying delegation.
 

During the meeting, the Deputy President, while welcoming the Governor of Erbil, expressed his happiness with their visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran and emphasized the further advancement of friendship and the historical relationship between the people of Iran and the Kurdish people, as well as the strengthening of general, cultural, and common economic relations, and reiterated his readiness for their further progress. Then, the Governor of Erbil emphasized that they support and assist in the further advancement of relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also pointed out that our desire is to have a strong and good relationship with all countries, especially the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In another part of the meeting, the Governor of Erbil highly valued the role of Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian, the Governor of Tehran, in advancing economic and industrial relations and trade between Erbil and West Azerbaijan. He also said that the desire of Erbil, as the capital of the Kurdistan Region, is to replicate that agreement and understanding with the Governorate of Tehran to further develop economic and industrial relations between them. Finally, he formally invited the Deputy President to visit Erbil, the capital, and the Kurdistan Region.
