Erbil Governor Receives Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil

On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, received Faramarz Asadi, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil, at the Governorate headquarters.
 

During the meeting, attended by Shakir Hussein, Head of Relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran, both sides emphasized the importance of developing and strengthening bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kurdistan Region.

They then highlighted the recent visit of the Governor of Erbil to the Islamic Republic of Iran, his participation in the (Iran - Expo 2025) exhibition, and his holding a series of important and fruitful meetings with the Vice President, Deputy Foreign Minister, Minister of Industry, the Governors of Tehran, Qazvin, Zanjan, and Urmia (West Azerbaijan),a number of parliamentarians, presidents and members of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and businessmen in Iran.
 

In another part of the meeting, discussion was held regarding the conduct and preparations for the annual broad meeting of the governors of (Erbil, West Azerbaijan (Urmia), Sulaymaniyah, Sanandaj (Sine) - Kurdistan Province, Dohuk, Kermanshah, Halabjah).

Finally, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran thanked the Governor of Erbil and the Erbil Governorate administration for the cooperation, assistance, and facilitation provided to their country's consulate in recent years.
