President Barzani Visits Paris City Hall

Today, Friday, September 5, 2025, President Barzani arrived at Paris City Hall and was received by the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo.
 

During the meeting, the Mayor of Paris expressed her pleasure at President Barzani's visit and noted that Kurdistan holds a special place in the hearts of the French people. For his part, President Barzani reiterated the appreciation of the Kurdish people for the continuous support of the French people and thanked Paris City Hall for naming the Peshmerga Street, stating that naming a street after the Peshmerga in Paris is a symbol of the long-standing relationship between the people of Kurdistan and the people of France.
 

In this regard, the Mayor of Paris expressed her respect and admiration for the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces, who fought ISIS terrorists on behalf of the entire world. She stated that France views the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces with respect, as they played a significant role in defeating the terrorists, and said: "We are indebted to the Peshmerga."
 

Later, President Barzani presented a book detailing the heroism and victories of the Peshmerga against the ISIS terrorist group and a painting of a Peshmerga to the Mayor of Paris. In response, the Mayor of Paris expressed her delight with the gifts, stating that "these gifts are very valuable to me," and thanked President Barzani.
