Erbil Governor Welcomes Head of Agricultural Innovators Organization from Poland

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, accompanied by Hêmin Said Murad, Director General of Agriculture in Erbil, welcomed Krzysztof Lucas, President of the Agricultural Innovators Organization of Poland, at the Governor's Office.
 

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on strengthening and further developing relations between Poland and the Kurdistan Region. Subsequently, discussions were held regarding the advancements made in the agricultural and food processing sectors in the capital Erbil in particular and the Kurdistan Region in general. Emphasis was placed on further developing the agricultural sector, ensuring food security, marketing local products, and the exchange, import, and export of both sides' domestic agricultural products.

For that purpose, after the President of the Polish Agricultural Innovators Organization presented a summary of their organization's work and activities, the Governor of Erbil, in turn, reiterated all cooperation and facilitation for the success of their work, projects, and programs. He also stated that the esteemed Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, gives special importance to the development of the agricultural sector. The goal of the government and Erbil Governorate is to gain experience and expertise from the agricultural sectors of other countries, in order to further advance the agricultural sector and strengthen the food industry in the Kurdistan Region in general, and in the capital Erbil in particular.
 

In another part of the meeting, the opening of the Erbil International Agricultural Exhibition and the participation of agricultural and food companies from Poland were highlighted. The Governor of Erbil expressed his pleasure at their annual participation in the exhibition and hoped that this year they would participate more effectively than in previous years. He also reiterated all support and cooperation from Erbil Governorate and assured them that within the framework of applicable guidelines and laws, the doors of the capital Erbil are open to all companies from their country for investment in Erbil.
 

Finally, the Head of the Agricultural Innovators Organization of Poland thanked the Governor of Erbil for his welcome, support, and cooperation, and expressed his readiness for all coordination with engineers, organizations, agencies, and other agricultural sector parties in the capital Erbil.
