Erbil Governor Welcomes High-Level UAE Delegation at the Citadel
On Wednesday evening, September 10, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, accompanied by Falah Hassan, Head of the High Commission for Erbil Citadel Revitalization, welcomed Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State and Special Envoy of the UAE Foreign Minister for Kurdistan Region Affairs, along with Abdullah Matar Al Mazrouei, UAE Ambassador to Iraq, Sheikha Bashir Farhan, Acting Consul General of the UAE in Erbil, and their accompanying high-level delegation, at the Citadel.
During the meeting, the Governor of Erbil expressed his pleasure at their visit to the capital Erbil and hoped they would enjoy their time there.
For their part, the visiting delegation expressed their delight at visiting the capital Erbil and noted the peace, security, prosperity, and stability in the city. Later, the Governor of Erbil and the visiting delegation toured several cultural and historical sites on the Erbil Citadel and then visited Machko Cafe.
It is worth noting that the purpose of the delegation's visit to the capital Erbil is within the framework of the Kurdistan Region's and the UAE's efforts to develop their political and commercial relations.
The UAE is one of the Kurdistan Region's largest trading partners, and the country has developed its investments and commercial activities in the Kurdistan Region since 2006. Especially during the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, efforts have been intensified to strengthen this economic relationship, with over 203 Emirati companies operating in the Kurdistan Region, 15 of which are large companies actively engaged in extensive commercial activities.
