High-Level UAE Delegation Received at Erbil Citadel

This evening, Monday, October 20, 2025, Sasan Awni, Minister of Municipalities; Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil; Muhammad Shukri, Head of the Investment Board; Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, Representative of the Prime Minister's Office; Falah Hassan, Head of the NGO Department; and Yadgar Argushi, Head of the High Commission for the Renovation of Erbil Citadel, welcomed a high-level delegation from the UAE on the Citadel, headed by Abdullah Lootah, Deputy Minister and Head of the Coordination Office in the Cabinet of the United Arab Emirates.
 

During the meeting, which was attended by Sheikha Bashir Farhan, Acting Consul General of the UAE in Erbil, the visiting delegation toured several cultural and historical sites on Erbil Citadel and expressed their delight at visiting the capital Erbil and the peace, security, prosperity, and stability prevalent in the city.
 

It is worth noting that the purpose of the delegation's visit to the capital Erbil is within the framework of the efforts of the Kurdistan Region and the UAE to develop their political and commercial relations.

The UAE is one of the Kurdistan Region's largest trade partners, and the country has developed its investments and commercial activities in the Kurdistan Region since 2006, especially with the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, where efforts have been made to further strengthen this economic relationship.
