Antimicrobial Resistance Prevention Conference Held

Today, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in the presence of Dr. Saman Barzanji, Minister of Health, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Chia Harky and Chinar Saad, Assistants to the Head of the KDP Organizing Bureau in Erbil, Falah Hassan, Head of the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations, Dr. Dilovan Mohammed, Director General of Health in Erbil, representatives and consuls of countries, and a significant number of doctors, health workers, and hospital staff, the Ministry of Health of the Kurdistan Regional Government held an Antimicrobial Resistance Prevention Conference on the occasion of World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week, under the title "Let's Fight Antimicrobial Resistance Together."

The conference discussed the importance of awareness in combating antimicrobial resistance and the importance of sanitizing hospitals to prevent the spread of microbes and diseases.

For his part, the Governor of Erbil praised the supervisors and organizers of the conference and expressed his hope that the topics and issues presented at the conference would become an important scientific source for protecting public health, which is one of the priorities and valuable works of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
