Meeting Between Businessmen from Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran

This evening, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in the presence of Begard Talabani, Minister of Agriculture, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Dr. Mohammed Shukri, Head of the Investment Board, Faramez Asadi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Shakir Hussein, Head of Relations between the Region and Iran, and the heads of the Chambers of Commerce (Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Halabja), a meeting was held between businessmen from the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran and the companies that participated in the "Eighth Grand International Trade Exhibition for Packaging, Canning, Plastics, Agricultural, and Food Industries."
 

During the meeting, the Governor of Erbil, in a speech, welcomed Iranian businessmen to Erbil city and emphasized the promotion, improvement, and strengthening of trade and economic movement between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran, hoping that economic and trade relations between the two sides would further develop.

He also commended the participation of Iranian commercial companies in the exhibition and highlighted the progress and advancements in trade relations between the Kurdistan Region and Iran.
 

He also expressed his pleasure that a large number of Iranian companies always participate and have an impact on exhibitions held in the capital, Erbil.
He also referred to the agreement between Erbil Governorate and other provinces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, especially with the province of West Azerbaijan "Urmia," which has greatly facilitated the work of the Chambers of Commerce and businessmen of both sides and has led to significant progress and increased trade and economic activity at both the Haji Omran and Tamarchin international border crossings.

For this matter, he thanked all individuals and parties who played a role in the signed agreements and understandings, especially the relations of the Region with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Consul General of that country in Erbil.
 

Finally, he hoped that meetings and gatherings between businessmen from both sides would continue and lead to further development of trade and industrial relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
