Erbil Governor Welcomes Chairman of the Executive Board of Mersin Industrialists and Businessmen Association
On Thursday, January 15, 2026, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, at the Governorate Diwan, welcomed (Mohammed Salih Celik), Chairman of the Executive Board of the Mersin Industrialists and Businessmen Association, and an accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, after the guest delegation discussed their work and projects, they conveyed the greetings and respect of the Governor of Mersin to the Governor of Erbil and officially invited His Excellency the Governor of Erbil to Mersin city.
Afterwards, the discussions focused on the relations between the two sides, emphasizing their development and joint cooperation.
The opening of an air route between Erbil and Mersin was also mentioned. For his part, the Governor of Erbil, while warmly welcoming the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Mersin Industrialists and Businessmen Association to the capital Erbil, stressed the development of economic, trade, and industrial relations between the two sides. He extended greetings and respect to the Governor of Mersin and officially accepted the invitation from the guest delegation.
Regarding the opening of an air route between Erbil and Mersin, he reaffirmed his full support and cooperation. Subsequently, as the Erbil Governorate, he emphasized that all doors of the Erbil Governorate are open for any commercial or industrial project between the two sides, and that the goal of the Kurdistan Regional Government is to develop the industrial and commercial sectors.
Therefore, we are fully supportive and cooperative, and within the framework of applicable laws and regulations, we are ready to provide all facilities for all companies and investors who wish to invest in the capital Erbil.
