Tourism Council Announced

Today, Monday, February 16, 2026, in the presence of Sasan Awni, Minister of Municipalities; Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil; Safin Dizayee, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations; Dr. Mohammed Shukri, Head of the Investment Board; and a number of other officials, investors, and businessmen, the Tourism Council was announced in Erbil, the capital.
 

This was done by the non-governmental organization "Visit Kurdistan," which aims to advance the tourism sector and attract international tourists to the Kurdistan Region. The council's goal is to promote, support, administer, organize, and strengthen the tourism sector.

The Governor of Erbil, while offering congratulations, highly valued the announcement of the council, describing it as a strategic and important project for revitalizing and investing in the public tourism sector, building a strong infrastructure, and creating job opportunities.
