Ankawa... Government Delegation Conveys Prime Minister's Congratulations to Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan, Emphasizing Deeper Coexistence
On Sunday evening, April 12, 2026, a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government, consisting of Dr. Pshtiwan Sadiq, Minister of Endowments; Ano Jawhar, Minister of Transport; and Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, visited "Metropolitan Nicodemus Daoud Matti Sharaf," Archbishop of the Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese of Kurdistan and Mosul, at the Ankawa Judicial Center, to convey holiday greetings.
During the meeting, they extended the congratulations of His Excellency Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, on the occasion of "Easter" to the Metropolitan and Christian sisters and brothers. They affirmed that the Kurdistan Regional Government views the culture of religious and ethnic coexistence in the Region with great pride and importance and will continue to protect this stability.
For their part, Metropolitan Nicodemus and those present expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister's message and praised the peace, prosperity, and religious freedom embodied in the Kurdistan Region. They also noted that the history of coexistence in Kurdistan is a beautiful and rare example globally and a source of pride for all components.
