This evening, Saturday, June 6, 2026, as part of his official visit to Van, Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, visited the Gever district center, part of Hakkâri province. He was warmly received by prominent figures from the Harki Beneci, Sati, and Doski tribes, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, and religious and social personalities of the region.

During the meeting, attended by Ghafoor Mala Ahmad Swar, District Commissioner of Mergasor; Karzan Abdulhadi, President of the Presidency of Erbil Municipality; Dler Mohammed, Director General of Erbil Tourism; Ibrahim Samin, Deputy Head of the Barzani Charity Foundation; Jawad Swar Hamad, Supervisor of the Zet International Border Crossing; and several members of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Governor of Erbil conveyed the special greetings and respects of "President Masoud Barzani" to the people and personalities of the region. He emphasized the historical and national role of the people of the region and the struggling tribes in supporting both the September and Gulan revolutions.

In another part of the meeting, the importance of opening the Zet International Border Crossing was highlighted as a new commercial and tourist lifeline between the two sides. It was stressed that this crossing would lead to greater social proximity and the revitalization of the region's economic and commercial infrastructure.

For their part, the hosts and personalities of Gever expressed their pleasure with this visit by the Governor of Erbil and his accompanying delegation. They expressed hope that such official meetings would create more job opportunities and strengthen the long-standing relations between the two sides
