Erbil... World Blood Donor Day Commemorated in City Park

Today, Sunday, June 14, 2026, in the presence of Dr. Saman Barzanji, Minister of Health; Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil; and Dr. Dlovan Mohammed, Director General of Erbil Health, the Erbil General Directorate of Health launched a blood donation campaign in the middle of "City Park" to commemorate World Blood Donor Day.
 

The Governor of Erbil, during his visit to the blood donation centers, commended the medical and health teams for their tireless efforts and successful organization of this event.

He highlighted the crucial humanitarian role of blood donors and thanked each citizen who, by donating their blood, saves the lives of their friends and fellow citizens.

It is worth noting that June 14th of every year is designated as World Blood Donor Day. This observance is an opportunity to honor those who voluntarily donate blood to the sick and injured. According to international statistics, such humanitarian campaigns annually save millions of lives worldwide and raise health awareness within communities.
