Erbil... Barzani Charity Foundation and UNHCR Organize World Refugee Day Ceremony

On the occasion of World Refugee Day, which is observed annually on June 20th, a special ceremony was held on Saturday evening, attended by a significant number of Kurdistan Regional Government ministers, ruling party officials, and organization representatives.

The Barzani Charity Foundation, in coordination with UNHCR, organized this event to honor refugees and their resilience – those who have been forced to leave their homes and places of residence due to conflict, violence, and persecution. World Refugee Day is designated by the United Nations to show support and solidarity with refugees worldwide.

During the ceremony, the Kurdistan Region's role in receiving and supporting thousands of refugees, to whom shelter has been provided over the past years, was highlighted.

The importance of continuous humanitarian aid, protecting refugees' rights, and providing support was reiterated. This event is an effort to raise public awareness about the lives of refugees and to emphasize the importance of international partnership and empathy in ensuring a safe life for all those forced to flee their home countries.
