Erbil... "Bidaya" Project Launched to Support Economic Empowerment of Youth and Women

Today, Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in the presence of Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil; Falah Hassan, Head of Non-Governmental Organizations; and Shvan Abdulrahman, Head of Chambers of Commerce, along with a significant number of officials, organization representatives, and media professionals, the launch event for the "Bidaya" project took place under the slogan "Skills, Entrepreneurship, and Work in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq."

The "Bidaya" project is financially supported by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
 

This project is implemented by Oxfam in partnership with the Kurdistan Organization for Human Rights, and so far, 2,059 individuals in the governorates of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Duhok have benefited from it.

This initiative works through social and general economic resilience, aiming to provide financial aid and support, as well as vocational training and job support, with the goal of promoting economic development and inclusion for refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and host communities.
