Statement from the Governor of Erbil

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

We thank the Mayor administration and administrative units of our governorate and the forces (police, security, Zeravani, emergency police, civil activities, traffic, civil defense and health teams) for fulfill their duties in protecting all public places and places where citizens of our city and a large number of guests and tourists came to spend the last moments of New Year's Eve.

We also thank the security checkpoints and teams of the General Directorate of Tourism of Erbil who were on full alert to serve tourists, guests and citizens, as well as the teams of the municipality and environmental protection office, on the day after the New Year, despite the holidays, they cleaned all the public places in the city that were polluted by garbage on New Year's Eve, thank you.

Finally, I would like to thank the guests and tourists from central and southern Iraq and other countries and citizens of our city, who cooperated and coordinated the New Year without any problems that are worth mentioning, the New Year was celebrated in a peaceful and happy atmosphere without any problems.
