Safeen Dizayee: After the Davos conference, several countries are coming to invest in Kurdistan Region

Safeen Dizayee, Head of Department of Foreign Relations - Kurdistan Regional Government said that: “ The annual Davos conference has become a meeting place for a large number of world leaders at the political and economic levels, decision makers, owners of the world's largest companies and banks, heads of government and presidents, every year, a number of topics of the day are discussed, the impact of the coronavirus, the low economic situation and the issue of the war in Ukraine and Russia were the hot topics discussed and its impact on the international level.”

Regarding the achievements of these meetings for the Kurdistan Region, Safeen Dizayee stressed that they are a good opportunity for the Kurdistan Region, because in previous years, the Kurdistan Region could not participate in the Davos Conference, but the Kurdistan Region has been participating in the conference for the past 10 years. The conference has become a gateway for the Kurdistan Region to make its voice heard, not only that the Peshmerga are bravely fighting ISIS, which has attracted the attention of countries, but in terms of peace, stability and economy, the region is an important region and the world can invest in it, and in terms of food security, the region has a vast and fertile land, which can help the international community.

And in one of these achievements is that the Kurdistan Region has taken steps towards exporting, this is a very good opening to export more food in the future, which makes the Kurdistan Region establish modern technology and agricultural investments to increase the products of farmers in the region and much better quality and market not only in the Gulf but also to Europe, the Gulf countries showed more willingness to reach their countries.

He added: “In bilateral meetings with the ministers of commerce, industry, finance and those involved in these issues, they have been encouraged to come to the Kurdistan Region and send delegations and conduct research to invest either directly or in partnership with the government and the private sector, or at the level of their own government or companies to make investments. Several delegations are expected to visit the Kurdistan Region in the coming days to investigate how they can invest in Kurdistan in terms of agriculture, food, energy and infrastructure and the government is ready to provide all assistance”.
