Erbil… The economic forum between Kurdistan Region and Federal Germany

Today, Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw attended an economic forum between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Germany in Erbil, which was organized by the Kurdistan and Germany Office of Industry and Commerce.

The forum was attended by the Kurdistan Regional Government's Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry, Germany's Deputy Consul General in Erbil, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a number of other professionals and businesses.

The governor welcomed the guests and wished them success at the meeting, saying, "We hope that this meeting will lead to further development of joint economic relations between the Kurdistan Region and Germany, and we would also like to thank the German Consulate in Erbil for all the facilities they have provided to Kurdistan businessmen and their country in the past." The governor also emphasized the Kurdistan Regional Government's goal of diversifying revenue sources, focusing on different sectors, and offering chances for local and international enterprises in order to strengthen the Kurdistan Region's economic and industrial sectors.

"After the war against ISIS and the financial crisis, many companies left the Kurdistan Region, but with the Prime Minister's strong will and his vision and strategy to develop the Kurdistan Region's economy, today we see many of these companies have returned to Erbil and the Kurdistan Region," he stated

Then, Kurdish and German specialists discussed how to strengthen the Kurdistan Region's economy and the development of joint economic and trade links between the Kurdistan Region and Germany.
