Japanese Ambassador to Iraq: The Kurdistan Government headed by Masrour Barzani has taken important steps toward development and progress
During a special celebration in Erbil organized by the Japanese Consulate on the occasion of his country’s National Day on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in the presence of Sidad Barzani, President Barzani’s representative, and a large number of politicians, diplomats and businessmen, Matsumoto stressed that Kurdistan “has come a long way to reach this stable and advanced situation.”
Futoshi Matsumoto, the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, stated that despite challenges, the Kurdistan Regional Government, led by Masrour Barzani, has undertaken crucial measures for sustainable development. He expressed hope for a "brighter and more developed future" for both his country and the Kurdistan Region.
The Japanese ambassador declared Japan's support for the Kurdistan Regional Government's endeavors, led by Masrour Barzani, in attaining sustainable growth and progress amid challenges.
He emphasized the enduring friendship between Japan and Kurdistan, foreseeing further improvement in their relationship in the years to come. Matsumoto highlighted Japan's readiness to support Kurdistan in economic and social development, aiming to strengthen their relations.
He noted that, symbolically in the Year of the Dragon, they aspire to ascend to greater heights and expressed anticipation for a brighter future for Kurdistan.
