Erbil Governor and UAE Consul "Reiterate Desire to Further Develop All Areas of Cooperation and Partnership"

On Monday, December 15, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, received Ahmed Hassan Al-Shehhi, the new Consul General of the UAE in Erbil, at the Governorate Diwan.
 

During the meeting, the Governor of Erbil warmly welcomed and congratulated the Consul on assuming his duties, expressing the full support of Erbil Governorate and relevant parties for the success of his mission.

He wished him success and noted that the people of Kurdistan always have a positive and friendly view towards the United Arab Emirates.
He praised the level of relations between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE and reiterated the desire to further develop all areas of joint cooperation with their country.
 

In another part of the meeting, both sides emphasized advancing relations, coordination, and cooperation between them. The Governor of Erbil highly valued the role of the Consulate, the former esteemed Consul, the UAE government, and the UAE Red Crescent in their cooperation and coordination with the Kurdistan Region and Erbil Governorate, noting that they have always been pioneers in humanitarian work and service projects.
 

For his part, the Consul General of the UAE in Erbil thanked the Governor of Erbil for the warm welcome he received and reaffirmed the development of further relations, coordination, and cooperation between the UAE Consulate General and Erbil Governorate.
