For the first time, the Governor of Erbil and the Governor of Zanjan meet

On Wednesday evening, April 30, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and his accompanying delegation, as part of his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, visited Zanjan Governorate.
He was welcomed by Seyed Mohsen Sadeghi, Governor of Zanjan, the Deputy Governor, and other senior city officials.
 

During the meeting, the Erbil Governor emphasized strengthening ties and boosting trade activity. He also expressed his hope that, with increased cooperation and coordination from the Governor of Zanjan, the required procedures and mechanisms for trade and industrial relations between Erbil and Zanjan would see greater progress.

For his part, the Governor of Zanjan, while extending a welcome, emphasized strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also indicated his readiness for full cooperation and coordination in order to boost trade and industrial activity between Zanjan and Erbil.

Then, the Governor of Erbil formally invited the Governor of Zanjan to visit Erbil, the capital.
For his part, the Governor of Zanjan accepted the invitation with thanks and affirmed that he will visit Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, at the earliest opportunity. In conclusion, gifts were exchanged between the two governors, representing the Erbil Governorate and the Zanjan Governorate.
