Erbil Governor Receives Baghdad Governor

 This evening, Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, accompanied by Safin Yassin, a member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives from the KDP faction, received Atwan Al-Atwani, Governor of Baghdad, and his accompanying delegation at Erbil International Airport.
 

During the meeting, the Governor of Erbil, while extending a welcome, expressed his pleasure at this visit and emphasized the importance of developing official cooperation between Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, and Baghdad, the capital of federal Iraq.

In response, the Governor of Baghdad thanked them for the warm reception and expressed Baghdad Governorate's readiness to work together in various sectors.
