Hiran Resort

It is a large region starting where the town of Shaqlawa continues until the beginning of Hiran town to the East. The resort is visited by tourists during summer and spring. Hiran, which is the heart of the resort, is 21km from Shaqlawa, and contains restaurants and tourism places. It is rich in walnut trees and gardens. Before the execution of the infamous Anfal campaigns, during which Hiran was attacked with chemical weapons, it was known for pomegranate trees. After the pomegranate gardens in Hiran had been burnt down and most of the water resources buried during these campaigns, the pomegranate was hit with a disease that it has not recovered from yet. Hiran resort is visited by tourists most of the seasons.
