The Fortress of Banaman)Khanzad(
It is located to the North of the city of Erbil near the village of Banaman, on the main road between Erbil and Salahaddin, 29km from Erbil, The 50 meter high fortress is built over a hill. It is a military fortress that was built by Mir Mohammad the late year 1340 AH - 1824 AD. The Kurdistan Regional Government has reconstructed it in 2005.
