The Governor of Erbil receives the Qatari Consul in Erbil

The Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, received on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the governorate office, the Consul General of the State of Qatar in Erbil, Meshaal Al-Hajrri.

During the meeting, the governor congratulated him on his appointment as consul of his country in Erbil and the opening of the Qatari consulate in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.

He also expressed his willingness to facilitate the success of their work and stated, "We sincerely wish you success in your work. The governor also praised the role of the Qatari Red Crescent Society and its government in past humanitarian work and service initiatives in collaboration with the Kurdistan Regional Government and Erbil governorate.

For his part, the Qatari consul in Erbil commended the governor for all the support and assistance provided, stating, "I've been in Erbil for several months, and I feel at home here. Erbil is a beautiful and tranquil city, and we wish you continued success. In addition, he emphasized the cordial ties between the Kurdistan Region and Qatar and conveyed his willingness to expand those ties in all areas.

In this regard, the Governor of Erbil stated, while emphasizing the development of political, economic, and trade relations between the State of Qatar and the Kurdistan Region, as well as coordination and cooperation between them, and within the framework of the agenda of the ninth Cabinet of the Council of Ministers, and its focus on strengthening economic and trade relations with regional countries, particularly in the agriculture sector, and exporting local products to neighboring countries, and confirmed that the doors are open to all firms wishing to come and work in Erbil.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Qatari consul in Erbil conveyed his desire to continue fostering and enhancing relations and coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Government and Erbil Governorate.
