In Erbil... An International Conference on Kurds and the Kurdistan Cause Was Held

Today, Sunday September 29, 2024, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, participated in the international conference "The Role and Influence of the Russian Orientalists in Introducing the Kurds and the Cause of Kurdistan," which was jointly organized by Soran University and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Government's representation in Russia, held in the capital city of Erbil.

At the conference, which was attended by the Russian Consul in Erbil and a number of other government officials, researchers, academics, university presidents, university professors, and students, participants presented their perspectives on the historical and political context that has led Russian Orientalists to focus on Kurdistan and the Middle East region. Additionally, the culture between Russia and the Kurds, the exchange of ideas and perspectives, and scientific cooperation between both sides were among the main topics of the conference.
