Erbil... Kurdistan Center for Culture and Arts Announced the Winners of the Qalat Award
On Sunday evening, November 30, 2025, in the presence of Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Barav Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Center for Culture and Arts, and a significant number of party and government officials, diplomatic figures, university professors, and various segments of society, the Kurdistan Center for Culture and Arts announced the winners of the Qalat Award in a ceremony under the slogan "A Place Between Moments."
The importance of the award lies in its ability to encourage architectural engineers to draw inspiration from the Kurdish environment and authentic art for better urban work in their field; as well as to develop their abilities to benefit from Kurdish culture, which is inspiring for strengthening national thought and creation...
For this purpose, this year, out of 100 designs, the best architectural design titled "A Place Between Moments" was chosen by an expert engineering committee to be implemented in Sami Abdulrahman Park in the center of Erbil, the capital. There, citizens can spend a quiet time, and it will also be a platform for talking, reciting poetry, relaxing, and playing.
During the ceremony, a series of speeches and documentary films were presented, followed by a panel discussion; finally, awards were distributed to the winners.
It is worth mentioning that the Kurdistan Center for Culture and Arts has collected a significant number of Kurdish books, manuscripts, and historical documents in its digital archive, utilizing advanced technology by providing basic materials for all researchers and enthusiasts of Kurdish history, literature, and culture.
