French Foreign Minister Arrives in Erbil as Part of His Visit to the Region

On Thursday evening, February 5, 2026, Jean-Noël Barrot, the French Foreign Minister, accompanied by Patrick Durel, the French Ambassador to Iraq, and a high-level delegation, arrived in Erbil, the capital.

They were welcomed at Erbil International Airport by Safin Muhsin Dizayee, Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government's Department of Foreign Relations; Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil; and Yann Braem, French Consul General in the Region.
 

The French Foreign Minister is scheduled to hold several official meetings and discussions with senior officials of the Kurdistan Region.
