Erbil... Farewell Ceremony for South Korean Consul and Inauguration of New Consul Held

On Monday afternoon, May 18, 2026, with the presence of His Excellency Malla Mustafa Masoud Barzani, Safin Dizayee, Head of the KRG Department of Foreign Relations, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and a significant number of ministers, representatives of parties and political factions, and diplomats, a farewell ceremony for Mr. Seungcheol Lim, the Consul General of the Republic of South Korea in Erbil, and the inauguration of the new consul of that country took place.

During the ceremony, the Governor of Erbil expressed his thanks and appreciation to Seungcheol Lim for his work and efforts in the past period, which played an important role in strengthening and developing the friendly relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Republic of South Korea. He also, on behalf of the Erbil Governorate, expressed special respect and appreciation for the continuous support and cooperation of the government and people of South Korea for the Kurdistan Region.

Finally, he wished success to the new South Korean Consul in his new duties and responsibilities in the capital, Erbil, and expressed his readiness for all cooperation.
