On the Erbil Citadel. Kurdistan Flag Day celebrated

On Saturday, December 17, 2022, In the presence and under the patronage of the Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, and a large number of party and government officials, and all components of the Kurdistan society. Stan Organization with the support of Erbil Governorate, celebrated the Kurdistan Flag Day in a ceremony, by raising the flag of Kurdistan in the historic Citadel of Erbil.

At the beginning of the ceremony, after the Kurdistan flag was hoisted by the Governor of Erbil, in a speech the Governor of Erbil congratulated all Kurds and citizens of Erbil, heroic Peshmergas and proud families of martyrs.

he said: "We hope that the Kurdistan Flag Day will be a day of brotherhood, unity and cooperation of Kurdistan's political forces and parties to achieve our national goals,".

It is worth mentioning that after the Kurdistan Parliament in 1999, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) introduced the official flag and decided to declare the 17th of December as the Flag Day. Every year on this day, the Kurdistan flag is renewed on the official institutions of the Kurdistan Regional Government, and special ceremonies are held on this occasion and the anniversary is celebrated. This year, this anniversary was celebrated throughout the Kurdistan Region.
