The Newroz fire torch was lit and the New Year 2725 of the Kurdish calendar was celebrated

This evening, Thursday, March 20, 2025, with the presence of the Minister of Interior, the Head of the KDP Organization Bureau in Erbil, the Governor of Erbil, the Assistant Head of the Organization Bureau, officials from Branches 2 and 16 of the KDP, the Deputy and Assistant Governors, the Mayor of the Center, Directors-General, the Head of the Municipality, Directors of Departments, representatives of political parties and groups, other party officials, the honorable families and relatives of the martyrs, on the ancient Erbil Citadel in the capital of Kurdistan, in a ceremony organized by the Erbil Governorate, the torch of the Newroz fire was lit and the year 2725 of the Kurdish calendar was celebrated.
 

During the ceremony, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, in a press conference for the channels, while congratulating the people of Kurdistan in general and Erbil, the capital, in particular, on Newroz and the Kurdish New Year, hoped that Newroz and the New Year would be a year of realizing the wishes of the people of Kurdistan and would bring goodness, blessing, joy, prosperity, and happiness to all.
