The Governor of Erbil pays a visit to the Kurdish Institute in Paris

On Friday, April 28, 2023, the Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, paid a visit to the Kurdish Institute in Paris and was received by the Institute's President, Kendal Nezan.

During the meeting, Kurdish culture, language, and history were discussed, as well as the Institute's work and activities, as well as cultural research on the Kurdish issue. Many other historical issues concerning the Kurdish struggle were also discussed, and the Kurdish people were educated and informed about our people's struggle for rights and self-determination.

In this regard, the governor of Erbil thanked the head of the Kurdish Institute in Paris and all of its members for their efforts to facilitate academic and cultural exchange between Kurds and other peoples, particularly the French, and to provide various social and political studies on the Kurdish issue.

The Kurdish Institute in Paris was founded in 1983 by a group of Kurdish thinkers and artists with the goal of preserving Kurdish grammar, history, and cultural heritage in Kurdish society, as well as publishing books, articles, and reports on Kurdish history and culture. The institute worked hard to make the Kurdish issue visible and visible on the international stage, as well as to make decisions in favor of the Kurds, as it effectively contributed to communicating the Kurds' voice to global public opinion by adopting a decision in the United Nations Security Council led by France to establish a safe zone for the Kurds following the 1991 uprising.
