The governor of Erbil, chaired a meeting to monitor the market and food prices and necessities of citizens

On Monday, February 6, 2023, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw chaired a special meeting in the presence of Akram Ahmad, Assistant Governor and Nabaz Abdulhamid, Erbil Central Mayor, in order to protect the public interest of citizens and prevent the increase in prices of food and other necessities and food price and market monitoring.

In The meeting, which was attended by the directors of livestock, trade supervision, Erbil slaughterhouse, poultry farms, economic department, discussions were held on the market situation, prices and types of food and the needs of citizens in general.

In another topic of the meeting, about the high and low price of the dollar and its impact on the market situation and food prices, the governor of Erbil said: “The committees of the Administrative Districts of Erbil governorate and the relevant parties, with intensive and detailed monitoring campaigns of the market, prices, goods, citizens’ needs, inspection, and control of bad and expired foodstuffs and medicines, they must intensify their efforts and not allow anyone to take advantage of this situation and play with the market and the prices of food and commodities for their own benefit.

Finally, the meeting on the safety and health of citizens emphasized the decision of the Erbil governorate that animals should not be allowed to be slaughtered outside the slaughterhouses in front of shops and on the streets, this must be prevented in every way, and strict legal action must be taken against anyone who violates it.
