The “Thabat” project to support displaced youth and women was launched in Erbil on Monday, June 3, 2024. The event was attended by Archbishop Bashar Matti Warda, pastor of the Chaldean Diocese of Erbil; Kwestan Muhammad, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs; Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil; and several young men and women.
The project is being implemented with direct support from Bishop Bashar Warda, in collaboration with the Ankawa Humanitarian Organization and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The project involves offering financial support and development courses to generate local job opportunities for youth and women, providing them and their families with a decent living.
This initiative contributes to the country's stability. The project also supports young people and women who have been displaced to the Kurdistan Region due to wars and political conflicts.
