 The Governor of Erbil receives a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran

On Thursday, June 5, the Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, received at the governorate’s office a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by the Governor of West Azerbaijan (Urumiyeh), Muhammad Sadiq Motamedian, and including the Sine Governor Esmaeil Zarei Kousha, the Governor of Kermanshah, Muhammad Tayeb Sahraei, the Iranian Consul General in Erbil, as well as the Iranian Consul General in Sulaymaniyah and a number of other Iranian officials.
 

During the meeting, which was attended by the Governor of Sulaymaniyah, Haval Abu Bakr, the Supervisor of the Autonomous Soran Administration, and deputies of the governor, the Governor of Erbil discussed methods to strengthen bilateral relations, maintain coordination, and foster joint cooperation in trade exchange. They also deliberated on facilitating movement and tourism between the two sides, especially in preparation for receiving Iranian pilgrims heading to holy sites in central and southern Iraq.
 

In the meeting, discussions also centered on agreements between Erbil and Urmia aimed at improving movement and trade conditions through joint border crossings. The Governor of Erbil expressed satisfaction with the significant progress in trade movement at the two border crossings following the signing of these agreements.
 

In summary, the visiting delegation expressed gratitude to the Governor of Erbil, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, and the President of the Kurdistan Region for the annual facilities extended to Iranian visitors. They also affirmed their readiness to offer assistance and facilities for this purpose and to strengthen trade exchanges with the Kurdistan Region.
