Erbil Governor receives Italian Military Delegation

Today, Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw received an Italian military delegation consisting of Colonel Citro Forte and Lieutenant Demico Terina and his accompanying delegation.

In the meeting, the governor welcomed the delegation and congratulated Colonel Chitro Forte on his appointment as commander of his country's forces within the international coalition against ISIS. The governor also highlighted the influential role of the coalition forces and Italy in coordinating efforts and collaborating in the military field, including training the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces.
 

The governor stated that the Peshmerga forces and the coalition forces jointly defend democracy, human values, and all of humanity, while combating the dark forces of terrorism.
 

He mentioned that when ISIS occupied several parts of Iraq, the Peshmerga, with the help of their allies, defeated the force. The Peshmerga became a symbol of heroism in their efforts to protect the world and humanity as a whole.
 

He highlighted the role of coalition forces, noting that without their support, we would have suffered more casualties in the fight against ISIS. He explained that the threat of ISIS still persists.

The Italian delegation then remarked on the peace and stability of Erbil, with Colonel Chitro Forte saying, "I feel at home."
 

They emphasized that they will continue training the Kurdistan Peshmerga Forces until the threat of terrorism is completely eradicated.
