Erbil... Farewell Ceremony Marks the End of the Italian Ambassador's Tenure in Iraq
This evening, Sunday, August 25, 2024, Erbil Governor Omid Khoshnaw attended a special ceremony to bid farewell to Maurizio Greganti and commemorate the end of his duties as the Italian Ambassador to Iraq.
At the ceremony, which included ministers, officials from the Kurdistan Regional Government's Foreign Relations Department, Kurdish political party representatives, and consuls and envoys from various countries, the Governor of Erbil expressed his appreciation to Italy for its support of the Kurdish people and Peshmerga forces. He praised the Italian Ambassador for his efforts in enhancing relations between Italy and the Kurdistan Region and extended his best wishes for his future endeavors.
In his remarks, the Italian Ambassador thanked the relevant parties in the Kurdistan Region and the Erbil Governorate for their cooperation with the Italian Consulate in Erbil. He expressed hope that the relationship, collaboration, and partnership between Italy and the Kurdistan Region would continue to grow. The Ambassador also described Kurdistan as a close ally of the Italian people and highlighted its crucial role in the stability of Iraq and the broader region.
