The Governor of Erbil receives the Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of All the World

This evening, Sunday September 15, 2024, Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, received His Holiness Patriarch "Mar Efraim III", the Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of All the World, and his accompanying delegation at Erbil International Airport.

During the meeting, the Governor of Erbil, while welcoming the delegation, emphasized the brotherhood and coexistence of different religions and nationalities in the Kurdistan Region. He noted that this has made the Kurdistan Region in general, and Erbil the capital in particular, a supreme example for the region that everyone can be proud of.

For his part, His Holiness the Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of All the World thanked the Governor of Erbil for the reception he received. He described the religious and national coexistence in the region as a beautiful example in the area. He also thanked the Kurdistan Regional Government for creating a peaceful atmosphere for the components and protecting Christians during difficult times.

At the end of the meeting, they discussed His Excellency's visit to Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
