President Barzani Participates in the Fourth Symposium of Mala-ye Jaziri in Sırnak Province

President Masoud Barzani arrived on Saturday, November 29, 2025, on a visit to Sırnak province to participate in the "Mala-ye Jaziri" symposium, and was warmly received by Munir Karaloglu, Turkish Deputy Minister of Interior, Birol Ekici, Governor of Şırnak, and Mehmet Yarka, Mayor of Sırnak.
President Barzani participated in the activities of the "Fourth Symposium of Mala-ye Jaziri" held in the province, with the presence of a large number of scholars, researchers, academics, and political and administrative figures, where he delivered an important speech to the attendees.
Here is the text of President Masoud Barzani's speech:
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Thank you very much for this warm welcome. It is a very happy day in my life to be present today in "Jazira Botan" to participate in the fourth conference on "Mala-ye Jaziri," whom we consider a great figure.
I extend my thanks to the Deputy Minister of Interior, the Governor of Sırnak, and all state institutions in Sırnak province. I also thank the esteemed parliamentarians and the people of this region for this warm welcome. Thank you all.
"Mala-ye Jaziri" is a shining star that never sets, and he is the leader of the caravan of lovers of the path of truth. Jaziri's poems never grow old, and every time one hears them, one imagines hearing them for the first time. The deeper you delve into Jaziri's poems, the closer you get to him and become more amazed by him.
In "Barzan Tekyeh," and in the presence of Mawlana Sheikh Ahmed Barzani, Jaziri's poems were constantly recited. It became clear to us the extent of the spiritual closeness between them, because the path of truth and reality is one.
According to what researchers have shown us, Jaziri was born in 1570 and passed away in 1640, meaning he lived for 70 years, but they were 70 years full of goodness and blessings, and rich in knowledge and wisdom.
It is clear from Jaziri's poems that he was well-read and proficient in (Kurdish, Turkish, Arabic, and Persian) languages. It also appears that he traveled extensively in search of knowledge, and among the places we know he visited was "Amedi."
In the presence of this gathering of scholars, specialists, researchers, and academics, it is difficult for me to delve into the details of Jaziri's life and literature because you know them better. However, according to my humble opinion, I would like to present some points about Mala-ye Jaziri:
Jaziri was in a very, very high position in the field of Sufism, and reached the rank of "fana fi Allah." He explains the oneness of God to us in a pure language when he says: "وەحدەتێ موتلەق مەلا، نوورە د قەلبان جەلا.. زۆرا د ڤێ مەسئەلێ، ئەهلێ دلان شوبهە ما" (meaning: Absolute oneness, O Mullah, is a light that illuminates hearts.. This matter is great, and among the people of hearts, no doubt remains).
God has bestowed great grace upon you in this region; Jaziri emerged here, and history was made here once again. As God Almighty says in the Holy Quran: ((And it rested upon Al-Judi)), where Noah's ark landed here. This is a source of great pride for you and for all of us.
In conclusion, I would like to refer to the great change that the region has witnessed, which is the "peace process."
We were filled with joy at the launch of this process, and we see that the process has begun this time in a very organized manner, because the people, parliament, and all parties support the state. Here, I find it imperative to thank His Excellency President Erdoğan, the Turkish state, the Turkish parliament, and the Turkish people who opened the door to peace, which is the best of doors and the best of options. I also salute Mr. Ocalan, who also took positive steps.
From here, I would like to say: We support this peace process with all our might, and we are ready for anything that is asked of us and that we can provide. God willing, the process will achieve very good results, and bring goodness and happiness to all of us.
