Erbil hosts the West Asian Junior Badminton Championship

Today, Sunday, October 15, 2023. The West Asian Badminton Championship was launched in the city of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, in the presence of Serbast Lazgin, a member of the political bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, the Iraqi Minister of Sports and Youth, and Ano Jawhar, the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Aryan Salahuddin, Deputy Minister of Culture, Bakhtiar Farhad, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Sports Affairs and Sardar Ismail, Director General of Sports.

The West Asian Badminton Championship for Juniors under 15-17 years old was held in a ceremony, and the tournament will continue until October 17.

The championship competitions took place in the hall of the Akkad Ankawa Club in the city of Erbil, and with the participation of six countries: Bahrain, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Iraq.
