Erbil, a ceremony marking the completion of a professional course on capacity building standards and the establishment of the Engineering Academy

On Monday, October 23, 2023, in the presence of the Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, Hiwa Ahmed Mustafa, the official of the mass and professional organizations of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the head and members of the Engineers Syndicate, and officials from the ETTC and the German GIZ organization, a ceremony marking the completion of the Capacity Building Standards Project and the establishment of the Academy of Engineers, which was launched by the European Technology and Training Center with the Engineers Syndicate in the Kurdistan Region and in coordination with the German GIZ organization was held.

The project intends to establish an engineering academy in order to promote and provide career opportunities for young engineers to compete and play a role in creating, prospering, and growing the Kurdistan Region's economic infrastructure.

In coordination with the European Technology and Training Center (ETTC) and the Engineers Syndicate, GIZ conducted sixteen 18-month-long training courses for 325 engineers.
